Position overview: The receptionists role is critical, since this person provides the first impression of patients coming into an Optometrists office. This is especially important in a medical environment where people may be apprehensive about health issues. The effective receptionist is able to multitask and respond to the needs of the patient, Optometric and Optical staff efficiently and calmly.
Essential job functions:
Filling in forms for patients prior to testing (NHS and private)
Taking payments for services provided
maintaining a tidy reception environment
Dealing with patient enquiries (face to face and telephone)
Helping patients with initial spectacle frame selection
End of day reconciliation and banking
08.30-17.00 Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri
We require someone with good interpersonal skills as our first point of contact. He/she should also be IT competent, although we will provide all the necessary help to understand our software. Good timekeeping and presentation are also essential.

We are able to offer testing 6 days a week by our two highly experienced optometrists. Monday to Friday testing is conducted from 8.30am to 4.30pm and Saturday 9.00am to 12.30pm.
Our sight tests are 30 minutes in duration and this gives us the time to discuss your individual needs and any worries that you may have regarding your vision.
