Coronavirus (Covid-19) update 22/06/20:

We are happy to announce the return to routine sight testing from 22/06/20. There will be a priority for urgent and essential eyecare, but we can now see patients who require a sight test or a contact lense check up. As yet, we will not be fitting new patients with contact lenses until we move into the next phase of the Covid19 recovery.

We will keep you informed of when this takes place and we thank you for your patience during this challenging time. We look forward to welcoming you again and we will continue to respect social distancing and disinfection recommendations.

Silverthornes Opticians are providing emergency eyecare on behalf of the NHS. If you are experiencing ocular problems, call us for advice.

Eye tests

At Silverthornes Opticians we pride ourselves with the individual treatment of our patients. Everyones eyes are different, and we will spend the time to attain an accurate assessment of your eyes' needs.

We are able to offer testing 6 days a week by our two highly experienced optometrists. Monday to Friday testing is conducted from 8.30am to 4.30pm and Saturday 9.00am to 12.30pm.

Our sight tests are 30 minutes in duration and this gives us the time to discuss your individual needs and any worries that you may have regarding your vision.

At Silverthornes Opticians we pride ourselves in offering the widest range of  products and services to the widest range of patients, accepting both NHS and private patients.

We have invested in the most up-to-date diagnostic ophthalmological equipment to examine your eyes thoroughly and help us to decide if you require further assessment by an ophthalmology team.

We have an excellent relationship with both Salisbury District Hospital Eye Clinic and Southampton General Hospital Eye Unit. So you can rest assured that your ocular health is extremely important to us.
